What day is it today?

Lots of Libyans are continuing the fast of Ramadan today despite the announcement of Eid which was issued at the mosques during the Friday prayers. Many state that Eid cannot be announced until the new moon is sighted and this would be impossible so early in the day on Friday. So Libya is divided over this issue; mosques called For Eid prayers and many Libyans ignorred the call.

It feels very weird.

    and eid mubarak...

yes this is the same story of each year...
and that's not a good action why they are taking .. cos the country u live in has announced that its eid ... so u are coming against and this is forbidden in Islam cos it will divide the lines of the Muslims ,,,
i wonder what people before 150 years was doing no knowing the city next to them when its fasting or celebrating eid?

this thing called (fitna) and its more dangerous than not completing the fast of Ramadan ,,,

and also there are some people who is not starting the fast of Ramadan with all of us like they are in a different state with a different government ,,,

its really weird ,,, how do they think

When I was in Libya we used to go and climb a hilly area nearby and use binoculars to spot the crescent then report it to the city.

Here’s a link to an article written about Libya’s announcement of the end of Ramadan.

(Libya begins Eid celebrations, earlier than most)
