Al-Madar? Is this the Customer Service Department?

When will Al Madar's internet service be back? I try on my phone and have no luck. All I get is a message that says:

The Service unavilable for development
(the spelling mistake is theirs not mine)

Finally, the other day I got in my car and drove to the company's main office to see what was going on with the internet and do you know what they told me?

"Please call our customer service phone number."

Hello? I'm here standing in your office you idiot! ......... I give up.... sigh.....

Someone suggested sending an SMS to 8989 with either 7 (for one week) or 30 (for a month) in the body of the text. It worked! But why is this not mentioned anywhere on Al-Madar's website? There still is no way to check your internet balance.

  1. Salam Khadija, hope you get your services back soon!
I really look forward to reading your blogs, and have been reading them for a few years now, I really like the way you describe life in Libya as it really is, warts and all. I am English and married to a Libyan for past 23 years and a regular visitor to Libya. We are Inshallah moving over there next summer with our four kids they are growing up so decided it's time to make the move (gulp, hope it goes well). So any advice is more than welcome. Salam.

  2. Take it or leave it, because we are alone.

    Best regards from Madar!

  3. I like this website shown and it has given me some sort of inspiration to succeed for some reason, so thanks.

  4. Some one help me please to have my Internet service I paid for! I wanted to activate Internet service. So I sent Almadar a SMS as they said on the website . But two days passed and I am waiting for the setting SMS . I geuss it is coming from china!!!! I called the customer service and they put me on hold for 30m. What I sould do to get my service or my money back?
