I'm safe and well in Libya. It's been a long hard six months but I made it. The internet has been turned on and I'm slowly sifting through over 2000 emails. Thanks to all who have commented, emailed, worried and prayed for me. I'll update as soon as I can. Just so busy celebrating!

  9. A Libyan Rebel
    -----------------------------------

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray to God, my soul you'll keep,

My mother says I need to pray,
For many others on this day,

    But my father - he's a rebel
of this I'm sure you know,
    He helped restore our freedom,
I was sad to see him go.

Although I know he's safe with you,
    I'd rather have him here,
'cause he's the one who always said,
    With prayer, there's no fear.

God, I know you hear me,
    Way up in the sky,
    Please protect my father,
    I wish he didn’t die

I worked in Tripoli in 2005 and found the Libyan people warm and hospitable. A nation of warm hearts deserves all it is fighting for:freedom, justice and the right to dignity and respect. May God guide them to better times.

  28. WOW, so glad sister that you are fine. One day inshallah we will have a cup of tea again and can share these past 6 months with each other. Thought of you as much as my own family there. Posted on my blog for the first time this past few days more for worry that it might cause problems. Glad to know you are safe. Don't know how soon we can be there again but soon. Inshallah next Eid. I spoke to a few family members and they seem to be fine but lines are still hard to get through. If you could drive by I would be grateful to know the condition of the area as we have had no info on how it looks. Im more worried for people than things but it helps to know so we can be prepared. Marbrook on Ramadan and Eid sai Eid.
