I once heard an older gentleman say, "You can't plow a straight furrow if you're always looking back." Those who have farming experience -- or just a little garden plot like me, know just how true this is! It wasn't until years later that I realized the origin of this statement. The Bible. Luke 9:62 says, "Jesus replied, 'No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'" I agree with your literal statement that no one knows where they are going (and most of the time I'm very thankful for that because I couldn't handle knowing the future!) but I've found that it really doesn't matter where we go as long as we are following God.
