Choice

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost (1874-1963)
US poet

Enough for Me

Enough for Me

Enough for me to die on her earth
be buried in her
to melt and vanish into her soil
then sprout forth as a flower
played with by a child from my country.
Enough for me to remain
in my country's embrace
to be in her close as a handful of dust
a sprig of grass
a flower.

Ibrahim loves school!

Ibrahim just loves school.... after the initial first week of crying and hanging onto mommy.
Today he ran the last block....
flew into the gate and.....
ran right into his classroom!
I cannot tell you how nice it feels to have Ibrahim in school.

A Supplication

Farwa' b. Naufal reported: I asked 'Aisha about the supplication that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) made. She said that he used to say:

"O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done."

Gardens

That evening
my garden awoke
The fingers of the wind
unhinged its fences,
Grasses swayed, flowers bursting
fruits ripening
in the blissful dance of
wind and rain.

A Prayer

In the quiet of the night
When I rise to prepare for prayer
I often take some time
To count my many blessings
And thank the Lord Almighty
For all He so generously gives
All the day, all the night
I stand amazed with wonder
As His great bounty fills my life
With so very much to rejoice for
Still one treasure stands alone in splendor
And that my friend is you

Thank you Lord for this my friend
Bless her
And Keep her
In the palm of your hand
Forever and ever
Amen

Here's the house so far.... I keep thinking the end is near and we will be finished - and we probably would be if it was left up to me. But I am married to a man from the 3rd world and even though he has spent 10 years of his life in the US of A he still has that laid back 3rd world mentality... That's the septic tank - I hope it's gonna be big enough! Two things in a house you need that are the right size and that's closets and septic tanks.
