Adjusting to civilization

I'm getting through jetlag, time zone change, and adjusting to the humidity. I'm sitting with my mom in the recovery room. All's well so far. Hopefully she will be discharged later today.

I ate real ice-cream, and graham crackers, and I drank real milk. Oh my God... real milk! How on earth did I ever drink that stuff they have in Libya? I'll need to figure out the remote control. My mom's cat isn't sure what to think of me. He sits outside on the ledge of the kitchen window looking in at me... who is this woman?

Hurricane season began today. It's raining outside.

It's so good to be home.

  2. Haha I'm DYING to go to Libya just to eat Icecream , and drink milk .
Icecream here tastes like frozen Milk . Would have been ok if the milk isn't basically...water.
I agree about the graham crackers though. :P

And I wish a quick recovery for your mother .
    Take care .

  4. I am with you on the milk. I went home this month and it felt so good to drink glass after glass of Midwestern skim milk. Never got to have the Brat though.

  5. I have lived in the USA for four years, I am looking forward to go back home to my beloved country. Life and people here are artificial, food also sucks. it is tasteless.

  6. It's always the small things that make the difference.
Some of the first I used to do when arriving from Libya was to buy something and charge it to credit card and sort my mail.
It just made me feel I was back.
